Following the success of Desktop TD and Dave’s promise, nay blood oath, that we can make a living from making games, I have decided to quit my job. I handed in my notice on Monday and they decided to let me go there and then! Fair nuff.
I am currently working on the latest version of DTD but once that is complete it will be full steam ahead with Novel Concepts. We have a lot of ideas, plans & schemes and first up is too find a good domain name to hang them all off…
Paul makes out I twisted his arm somehow, the truth is that he required very little in the way of persuasion to quit his job :) I think the thought of working with me for the rest of eternity would in fact make someone less likely to quit their job, go figure. He must be one of those people who get pleasure from pain, the freak ;)
Awesome! I’d wish you good luck sir but DTD is so damn solid that I know you’ll do great. Don’t sell out! Keep your M rating! Self publish and tell the suits to jam it.
Best of luck to the both of you, I’m looking forward to what comes next…
Hey, congratulations! I’ve been playing your game for several months, from the early beginning I think. Cool that you can make a living out of it. If you ever need some webdesign/stuff, I’d be happy to help you out.
Congrats, i admire that you venture out to do something that makes you happy! I look forward to what comes ahead.
…i’m addicted to the game by the way!
I think its good to find sum other people who think you can make mony with making games.
il try and help you by putting your game and wb sites on my schools web page.
keep on the good work and 1 day il make games too i hope
Best of luck to both of you and bravo for following your dreams. If only we were all so fortunate, to have such a path before us.
I do have one name suggestion.
Combining Congregate or Congregation with Game you get Congregame. Or possibly Kongregame which inherantly adds a larger than life implication.
regards,
Miles (PullMyFinger on DTD)
Congrats and good luck!
Good luck man, you made a great game. I’m really happy you were able to pursue this full time.
Good luck with your new move. Your game is both awesome and addictive! You are a very talented game developer.
I’m thinking of quitting my job to play DTD.
You never know, give it a couple of years… DTD clans in the CPL? :P
nice its great to see nice games even with my parents stationed in japan
Hello both of you!
I wanted to say you my congratulations for what you’ve already done, and i wish you a good luck for what’s coming on! I’ll do my best to add your future website :)
Just want to say that DTD is by far the best online game I’ve every played (screw War Rock!). Keep up the good work and I’d love to see you develop a online games site.
Congratulations. Speaking as a longtime game developer myself, I know that you can indeed make a living at it, provided that you’re willing to work really hard and exploit your strengths. You seem have done very well so far, and there’s no reason you can’t take it another step. There’s a great deal of good free advice out there to help you along the way, too.
Good luck to you.
I’m really excited for you both; indie web games, sounds like a great plan! I’ve been playing DTD for a few months now and I’m still totally hooked.
Congratulations and good luck on the new venture. I enjoyed playing DTD and look forward to the new version.
Congratulations! What an inspiration. Good luck!
Good luck! I donated money for DTD and if your other games are as good, I will donate/buy those as well. Ill be watching :)
Congrats, and we’re happy to have you blogging here at WordPress.com. On the team we have a group DTD scoreboard. :)
Congrats on quitting the day job :) I was going to suggest an rss feed for DTD news but your blog will probably be more interesting :) Thanks for setting it up + good luck with the coding
Oh, so you’re supposed to have something lined up BEFORE you quit your job. Oops.
Very cool man. Congratulations. I also love this freaking game.
you’re joking!
