After much tinkering we have removed the “BETA” from buggle and passed it on to our newset game “Desktop Armada” (DA) which we launched on the Collective today.
DA went live 5 hours ago and has already had 359 unique members play it 2,534 times, a whopping 93 hours 30 minutes of combined time sinking ships :o) In the last hour there have been 2.8 times the number of games of Desktop Armada than there has been of MPDTD and Buggle put together.
We have a few bugs to sort out, including the pesky Mac vs PC problem where Mac likes to round numbers differently, which is very annoying indeed when you are trying to program a multi player game.
In other news… we have added a simple live chat room so members can chat it up while surfing the site or organize games quicker than with the private message system. It is quite simplistic at the moment and is on trial, if it gets used a lot I will develop it into something much more fancy :o)
It must be the time to launch things as MochiMedia (the people who came up with the in-game ads for Flash Element TD and Desktop TD) who were in beta opened their doors yesterday to let anyone who makes flash games sign up. So if you are a flash game developer you should check them out, you would be crazy not to! Congrats on the launch of your new site guys, we now appreciate how hard it can be to startup a web company :o) best of luck!
